Imagined Topographies
2021
The FOFA Gallery is the primary venue dedicated to showcasing the current artistic and research practices of the Faculty of Fine Arts. Our team was tasked with designing the 2021 exhibition catalogue under the theme of Imagined Topographies. This theme focuses on the relationships mapped by each artwork being partly abstract and concrete functioning in liminal spaces.
Since this year's exhibition was not held in a physical space, we wanted to design this catalogue as a means to highlight and celebrate the participating artists. Our goal changed from only designing an exhibition catalogue to using this book as an object through which the artists would be able to be celebrated and recognized. In addition to the catalogue, our deliverables consisted of postcards, dance flyers, and stamps to add a more unique experience for the receivers of the catalogue. These would also become a way to connect the artists and readers together in conjunction to this year's exhibition theme.
